Tilt-Shift Miniture Faking
Photographer Keith Loutit from the Land DownUnder utilizes selective focus and time lapse photography to give a interesting view to the Sydney coast. Keith mentions that to achieve this effect he uses custom modified medium format tilt-shift lenses on digital SLR to achieve this miniture effect. How ever he does it, it's damn cool!

very cool! :D
I have been obsessed with tilt-shift miniatures for a while now, and have been secretly working to learn how to create them. I've been trying houshold scenes (see HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE, which aren't very successful ... yet), but what I really want is for my husband to take photos for me because he works in alternative energy, overseeing wind turbine projects and his perspective is AMAZING.
Anyhow, thanks for sharing this awesomeness.
@soNOTcool - I can't believe this is the first I've ever heard of this! Are you faking those with photo editor or do you actually have a tilt shift lens? I can imagine taking these pictures from the top of a wind turbine would be incredible! Keep me posted :)
I've been trying to do these for quite a while in photoshop. I found a pretty good tutorial for if you want to try it.

I've seen better examples and techniques I'm sure, but it's a start.
Out of the ones I've done, this one and this one are my favorites I think.
that's funny
@streetphotos - I messed around a bit in Photoshop after reading several tutorials online. I am SO photoshop illiterate, so I would much prefer to get a lens. If my husband gets some quality footage from the air (I have some photos from 1300 feet), I'll certainly post it.
that is pretty dang cool
and you sure do use The Internet to the fullest
COOOOOL!!!!
Awesome! :)
Wow those vids are so neat!
